Billy Casper Golf, July 2012 – May 2017: Systems Integration Architect

I was responsible for the overall data architecture as well as building and maintaining the processes that managed the daily integration of Tee Sheet and Point of Sale data from our portfolio of golf courses into our XRM (Dynamics CRM) environment. I also maintained and managed the automated processes to import/export data from/to XRM with our 20+ external partners utilizing REST, SOAP, MSSQL, CRM, Web API, etc. Additionally I was responsible for delivering business intelligence data using Zap BI and MS SQL Reporting Services.

GEICO, December 1998 - 2012: Applications Architect and Middleware Lead

Early role was an intranet developer specializing in ASP/ASP.NET/SharePoint where I created web-based applications ranging from an Electronic Time and Attendance system to implementing single sign on and identity management for their suite of intranet applications. Then I was promoted to leadership where I led teams responsible for the software/systems architecture, design, and implementation of new and innovative approaches, patterns, and tooling. I was also responsible for developing/maintaining the middleware and B2B services in support of GEICO’s Multiline products for both the customer facing and internal counselor sales systems. The integration stack consisted of WCF services that allowed for communication between the 50+ external facing partners for the "non auto" book of business.

Jared Hall - Data Services Architect at Billy Casper Golf ( - (540) 538-3399)

"I list Mike as a friend in the relationship question because that is what he is, first, and foremost. For the past twenty years that relationship has evolved through several professional team setups: I have worked for him as a co-worker on a development team at GEICO back in the late 1990's, then as a direct report for him on that team when he was promoted, and then finally again as counterparts at Billy Casper Golf. Mike is by far the most gifted architect / developer I have ever met; I say that because you'll likely find a number of people with similar technical proficiencies -- however I guarantee you will not find someone with Mike's experience in the real world of building real end-to-end business applications with just about all of them. That's important from an integration standpoint because often in the real world you don't get to use the most obvious or best-supported solution to get the job done, and it takes experience, not Google searches, to be able to make those connections between business partners when the clock is ticking. The other thing you won't see in a resume filled with technical certifications and coding language acronyms is Mike's passion for what he does. I don't think I've met anyone with the drive to pull 12hr days on the norm and also stay current in the field the way he does. If you would like any further details on my experiences working with and for Mike, please don't hesitate to contact me, thank you."

Dave Williams- VP/CTO at Plants Alive! (

"As Mike’s Director at GEICO and as his Vice President at Billy Casper Golf Mike showed his insight, his tenacity and his commitment to quality work and outstanding solutions to technical problems."

Jessica Lewis- Director of Web and Product Development at Billy Casper Golf (

"Mike was a pleasure to work with. Always thinking about the bigger picture and how we could get there but still able to think small term and make things happen on a day to day basis. His drive and determination to figure things out was great to be around and he wouldn't settle until a solution was found. I think he'd be an asset to any company and I would always welcome an opportunity to work with him again."
